Prospect: WR Devin Street, Pittsburgh
Weight: 190 lbs.
Initial Grade: 6.4 (Grading Scale)
Since signing with Pittsburgh as a high school track star and 2-star football recruit, Devin Street has developed into a quality NFL prospect. Street came to Pittsburgh weighing just 170 lbs and bulked up to 190 lbs by the start of his redshirt junior season.
He had his best statistical season in 2012 registering 73 receptions for 975 yards and 5 touchdowns. He will have to adapt to a new starting QB this season at Pittsburgh but should still be able to showcase enough talent to become a mid-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Preseason Scouting Perceptions
Devin Street looks to have natural hands. He locates the ball well in the air and fights to reel in the catch. Street also makes nice adjustments when the QB is forced out of the pocket. He accelerates quickly and can make some defenders miss in space.
Street must continue to develop as a route runner and needs to bulk up and get stronger to compete in the NFL. As of now, he isn’t a threat to beat press coverage due to his strength, or lack thereof.
He can greatly improve his draft stock by adding strength and developing into a team leader during the 2013 college football season.
